Hydro Tasmania operates 30 power station intakes and over 60 conveyance intakes. The intake structures are typically up to 60 years old.
Paloona Power Station intake failed catastrophically in Tasmania's 2016 floods. This paper discusses the refurbishment of Paloona Intake as well as some new and unexpected issues with cracked bars of the new screens.
